Montreal's New All-Green Unisuit

Montreal Rowing has a new club colour and it's set to make an impact. That new colour is green ... as in going green.

Fact: More than 1.5 million tons of plastic are used to bottle 89 billion litres of water. That's enough to fill up the basin 693 000 times.

So what can you do? Simple. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Rethink the water bottle.

Reduce: Get an actual water bottle like a Nalgene. See why veteran rowers have been doing this for years. Or buy one bottle instead of buying a 6-pack and ...

Reuse: For those moments when you have no option but to buy bottled water, reuse it. Make sure to let it completely dry out after washing.

Recycle: When it comes time to get rid of the bottle, recycle it. There's a recycling bin at the end of the hall in the Athletes' Quarters.

Rethink: Whatever the bottle, put your name on it. This way you'll be able to recover it next time
you accidentally leave it at the club.

Meanwhile your friendly neighbourhood erg is also going green. Well sorta. All used erg batteries will be recycled. Or you can come pick some up for your TV or DVD remote on the condition that you recycle your old ones.

As for the unisuit? It's either be green or wear green.
